The Studio Springfield LLC is a full-service analog and digital recording facility capable of meeting all your recording needs.
The Studio was founded by the late, great producer, engineer, and bass wizard Lou Whitney in 1994. Lou recorded hundreds of different bands and artists here in the studio he designed. Lou had many interns and assistants over the years to help with sessions and learn a thing or two. Eric Schuchmann was luck enough to be one of his assistants, band mates, and friends for 10 years. Since Lou’s passing in October 2014, Eric took over the daily operations of the business.
As of July 1, 2015 The business “The Studio” owned by The estate of Lou Whitney was closed. The Studio Springfield owned by Eric Schuchmann is now in business at 328 South Avenue using the same great gear and the same great rooms. In keeping with Lou’s legacy, we are committed to providing the same top-notch recording experience at an affordable rate.
Our 28’x21′ recording room was designed with acoustics in mind by engineer Bruce Moore, AIA, to ensure a great recording environment for our clients. With a 40-channel Soundcraft TS24 console at its center, and a plethora of outboard gear, our 16’x18′ control room is perfect for mixing. We offer a dynamic combination of vintage recording equipment and modern recording technologies to help you meet all your artistic needs.
We’re located in the heart of Springfield, Missouri‘s vibrant downtown community, and next door to The Outland complex, at 328 South Avenue. There are numerous restaurants, bars, and other attractions within walking distance.
We take pride in being the right place to capture the live sound you have worked hard to perfect.
